We offer a number of Services that do not require You to register for a Service or provide any personal information to us. In order to provide our full range of Services, we may collect the following types of information:
Information You Provide
When You sign up for a brick&mobile Service or other brick&mobile Service or promotion that requires registration, We ask You for personal information (such as Your name, email address, billing address, credit card or PayPal information) which we maintain in encrypted form on secure servers. brick&mobile uses collected information for the following general purposes: product and Service provision, billing, identification and authentication, Services improvement, contact, and research. We may combine the information You submit under a Service with information from other brick&mobile Services or third parties in order to provide You with a better experience and to improve the quality of our Services. For certain Services, We may give You the opportunity to opt out of combining such information.
We collect the e-mail addresses of those who communicate with us via e-mail, aggregate information on what pages consumers access or visit, and collect information volunteered by the consumer (such as survey information and/or site registrations). The information We collect is used to improve the content of our Web pages and the quality of our Service, and is not shared with or sold to other organizations for commercial purposes, except to provide products or Services You have requested, when We have Your permission.
Google Adwords Display Advertising Opt Out
When You access brick&mobile Services, our servers automatically record information that Your browser sends whenever You visit a website. These server logs may include information such as Your web request, Internet Protocol address, browser type, browser language, the date and time of Your request and one or more cookies that may uniquely identify Your browser.
When You send email or other communications to brick&mobile, we may retain those communications in order to process Your inquiries, respond to Your requests and improve our Services.
Affiliated brick&mobile Services on Other Sites
brick&mobile offers location-enabled Services, such as brick&mobile Maps for mobile or QR code tracking. If You use those Services, brick&mobile may receive information about Your actual location (such as GPS signals sent by a mobile device) or information that can be used to approximate a location (such as a cell ID).
brick&mobile may present links in a format that enables us to keep track of whether these links have been followed. We use this information to improve the quality of our search technology, customized content and advertising. Read more information about links and redirected URLs.
brick&mobile uses web beacons alone or in conjunction with cookies to compile information about You and Your usage of brick&mobile’s web sites, Services and interaction with emails from brick&mobile. Web beacons are clear electronic images that can recognize certain types of information on your computer, such as cookies, when you viewed a particular website tied to the web beacon, and a description of a website tied to the web beacon. For example, brick&mobile may place web beacons in marketing emails that notify brick&mobile when you click on a link in the email that directs you to one of brick&mobile sites. brick&mobile uses web beacons to operate and improve its websites and email communications.
When You use the Service by or through a mobile device, We may access, collect, monitor and/or remotely store “location data,” which may include GPS coordinates (e.g. latitude and/or longitude) or similar information regarding the location of Your mobile device. Location data may convey information about how You use the Service to us. Location data does not collect or share any personally identifiable information about you. Location data may be used in conjunction with personally identifiable information. Some features of the Service, particularly location-based services, may not function properly if use or availability of location data is impaired or disabled.
When You access the Service by or through a mobile device, We may access, collect, monitor and/or remotely store one or more “device identifiers.” Device identifiers are small data files or similar data structures stored on or associated with your mobile device, which uniquely identify Your mobile device and are used to enhance the Service. A device identifier may be data stored in connection with the device hardware, data stored in connection with the device’s operating system or other software, or data sent to the device by us. A device identifier may convey information about how You use the Service to us. A device identifier does not collect or share any personally identifiable information about you. A device identifier may be used in conjunction with personally identifiable information. A device identifier may remain persistently on your device, to help you log in faster and enhance your navigation through the Service. Some features of the Service may not function properly if use or availability of device identifiers are impaired or disabled. We may access, collect and/or store device identifiers upon enabling the Services.
Social Media Features
Public forums, refer a friend, and customer testimonials
brick&mobile may provide bulletin boards, blogs, or chat rooms or help forums on brick&mobile’s websites or Services. Any personal information you choose to submit in such a forum may be read, collected, or used by others who visit these forums, and may be used to send you unsolicited messages. brick&mobile is not responsible for the personal information you choose to submit in these forums.
You may elect to use brick&mobile’s referral program to inform friends about brick&mobile’s Services. When using the referral program, brick&mobile requests the friend’s name and email address. brick&mobile will automatically send the friend a one-time email inviting him or her to visit brick&mobile’s Services.
brick&mobile may post a list of customers and testimonials on brick&mobile’s websites that contain information such as names and titles. brick&mobile obtains the consent of each customer prior to posting any information on such a list or posting testimonials.
- Providing our Services, including the display of customized content and advertising;
- Auditing, research and analysis in order to maintain, protect and improve our Services;
- Ensuring the technical functioning of our network;
- Protecting the rights or property of brick&mobile or our users; and
- Developing new Services.
brick&mobile processes personal information on our servers. In some cases, we process personal information on a server outside Your own country. We may process personal information to provide our own Services. In some cases, we may process personal information on behalf of and according to the instructions of a third party, such as our advertising partners.
Choices for Personal Information
Most browsers are initially set up to accept cookies, but You can reset Your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, some brick&mobile features and Services may not function properly if Your cookies are disabled.
You can decline to submit personal information to any of our Services, in which case brick&mobile may not be able to provide these Services to You.
brick&mobile only shares personal information with other companies or individuals outside of brick&mobile in the following limited circumstances:
- We have Your consent. We require opt-in consent for the sharing of any sensitive personal information.
- From time to time, brick&mobile may partner with other companies to jointly offer products or services. If you purchase or specifically express interest in a jointly-offered product or service from brick&mobile, We may share Your personal information collected in connection with your purchase or expression of interest with our joint promotion partner(s). brick&mobile does not control our business partners’ use of Your personal information or data we collect, and their use of the information will be in accordance with their own privacy policies. If You do not wish for Your information to be shared in this manner, You may opt not to purchase or specifically express interest in a jointly offered product or service.
- We have a good faith belief that access, use, preservation or disclosure of such information is reasonably necessary to: (a) satisfy any applicable law, regulation, legal process or enforceable governmental request, (b) enforce applicable Terms of Service, including investigation of potential violations thereof, (c) detect, prevent, or otherwise address fraud, security or technical issues, or (d) protect against harm to the rights, property or safety of brick&mobile, its users or the public as required or permitted by law.
We may share with third parties certain pieces of aggregated, non-personal information, such as the number of users who searched for a particular term, for example, or how many users clicked on a particular advertisement. Such information does not identify You individually.
brick&mobile may disclose personally identifiable information under special circumstances, such as to comply with subpoenas or when Your actions violate the Terms of Service.
We take appropriate security measures to protect against unauthorized access to or unauthorized alteration, disclosure or destruction of data. These include internal reviews of our data collection, storage and processing practices and security measures, as well as physical security measures to guard against unauthorized access to systems where we store personal data.
We restrict access to personal information to brick&mobile employees, contractors and agents who need to know that information in order to operate, develop or improve our Service. These individuals are bound by confidentiality obligations and may be subject to discipline, including termination and criminal prosecution, if they fail to meet these obligations.
Accessing and Updating Personal Information
When You use any brick&mobile Service, we make good faith efforts to provide You with access to Your personal information and either to correct this data if it is inaccurate or to delete such data at Your request if it is not otherwise required to be retained by law or for legitimate business purposes. We ask individual users to identify themselves and the information requested to be accessed, corrected or removed before processing such requests, and we may decline to process requests that are unreasonably repetitive or systematic, require disproportionate technical effort, jeopardize the privacy of others, or would be extremely impractical (for instance, requests concerning information residing on backup tapes), or for which access is not otherwise required. In any case where we provide information access and correction, we perform this Service free of charge, except if doing so would require a disproportionate effort. Some of our Services have different procedures to access, correct or delete users’ personal information. We provide the details for these procedures in the specific privacy notices or FAQs for these Services. Please note that there may be instances where access may be restricted as permitted or required by law. Examples may include information that is subject to legal privilege, information containing confidential commercial information and information relating to a third party. If applicable, we will advise you of the reasons for restricting access subject to any legal or regulatory limitations.
